Slough Cadet Unit are seeking volunteers to assist with our weekly cadet session.

Slough Police Cadets meet every Thursday during school term-times. Most meetings take place at Slough Police Station between 18:30 and 21:00. There are occasional activities at weekends and during school holidays.

We are looking for volunteers who can provide a regular commitment.  One volunteer will plan the session, and will be supported at the session by other leaders each session.

The cadets are aged between 13 and 18 years old so we are looking for people who enjoy working with teenagers and can bring fun and engagement to sessions. It is a really diverse and fun group of cadets.

Internal Volunteers can claim TOIL for this extra responsibility or dependent on department and shifts can be in work time.

If you have any queries please contact the Recruitment Department at RecruitmentPoliceStaff@thamesvalley.pnn.police.uk quoting reference 20306. We will endeavour to respond to your query as quickly as possible.

Please use Google Chrome when completing your application, wherever possible, as this will enhance performance.

The closing date for enquiries and receipt of completed applications is Sunday 27th June 2023.

As a volunteer within the police service, you will be subjected to a level of police vetting. The level will be dependent upon the role and it’s access requirements. With the higher levels of vetting, applicants could be asked to provide details of family members, partner, partner’s parents and co-residents, as well as additional information regarding their own personal circumstances. This process is required to ensure that Thames Valley Police comply with the legislation of the Vetting Code of Practice.

Whilst we endeavour to complete all vetting within 30 working days of receipt of vetting forms, unfortunately this is not always the case due to operational demand and back-logs, and could take considerably longer.

If you have any concerns or queries regarding your application please do not hesitate to get in touch.
