We are inviting applications for the role of Principal Analyst for the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU), the professional lead for all intelligence, data, threat and performance analysis needs within our ROCU. This is critical in enabling policing in the South East to understand and mitigate threat from serious organised crime.

Key functions that this role holder will oversee are: the Regional Organised Crime Threat Assessment Team (ROCTA), OCG Mapping, and Operational, Strategic and Performance Analysis.

The role holder will need to be a capable analyst to understand the professional needs and oversee quality, however the role holder should not expect to be carrying out analysis.  This is a leadership role and designed to provide SEROCU with a senior leader with a technical background.  A key area of advancement is to work with IT professionals to ensure that data structures and tooling are optimised and developed locally where needed to allow an advanced analytical capability to be created within SEROCU. Detailed knowledge of analytical techniques using computer systems is required.

The role can be completed on an agile basis (office location negotiable on selection) and some home working is available, although applicants should not consider this role suitable for being completed at home for the majority of the working week as there are senior leader responsibilities.

Please note that this role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC Enhanced.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
