Investigations will include Cash Detentions, Account Freezing Orders and Listed Asset Seizures, and will be both stand-alone, as well as in support of other teams within SE ROCU. You will take a proactive approach to identify criminal assets, and work closely with other Proactive Economic Crime teams to identify and develop POCA disruption opportunities.

The team will provide Financial Investigation support to the newly created Proactive Economic Crime Team (PECT).

You will have responsibility for the team’s performance, including meeting KPI’s so you should be result focused.

The role holder will be involved in setting up the team so must be self-reliant and highly motivated, as well as able to create a strong team work ethic. With the ability to set up legally compliant processes and working practices.

The team is likely to be spread geographically and with some agile working, so the role holder will need to possess excellent team building skills and supervisory skills.

You will also be responsible for establishing and maintaining relationships with internal and external stakeholders, so communication and partnership building skills are key.

You should be able to demonstrate high levels of understanding of Financial Investigation, and POCA tactical options/powers.

It is anticipated that the management of SE ROCU’s Ports Cash Team will come under this position in the near future. This small team of financial investigators supports partners at the Borders by adopting CRiSP investigations of POCA seizures at the ports. As such, the role holder will on occasion need to travel to Ports in the South East Region to support operations and meet with stakeholders.

Unless already accredited as a Financial Investigator, the post holder will be required to complete the relevant entrant’s exam and training, and thereafter complete all CPD to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).
