In this interesting role you will provide administrative support within the Fingerprint Development Laboratory, ensuring the integrity and continuity of forensic / biometric evidence and presenting a professional interface between FIU and its customers in support of the organisational requirement to secure detections and convictions. 

The duties will be mainly uploading ridge detail images to an Overt Digital Imaging Management system (ODIMS) and arranging equipment engineer visits in a timely manner.   The role will also include the handling, quality assurance, documenting and recording onto computerised systems of forensic exhibits and updating the results achieved. Dealing with incoming and outgoing post/dispatches and where necessary the secure packaging of exhibits for onward transmission ensuring exhibit integrity.   In addition carrying out general clerical duties such as call handling, filing, emailing, minute taking and photocopying.  There will also be a requirement to triage cases and confirming they are acceptable for submission. 

You will have recent experience of working in an administrative role and working to deadlines along with proven computer skills and the ability to interrogate and accurately input data from a variety of sources.  You will also have excellent interpersonal skills and a proven ability to work as part of a team. 

The successful candidate may be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process as the role may include handling images/items of an unpleasant nature. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
