Police / Detective Constable - Intelligence Officer FIMU (Surrey) (CTPSE)

Fixed Intelligence Management Unit
Surrey relocating to Near M4 Junction 12
Police Constable
N/A
Full Time
Permanent

The Fixed Intelligence Management Unit receives, processes, and analyses all of our incoming intelligence.  With support from the UK Intelligence Community, our Intelligence Officers decide what to do, then direct operational activity to enhance our understanding or mitigate the threats.

The role is based in Surrey, however under the CTPSE estates strategy the role will move to a new Headquarters in the Thames Valley area at some point in the future (no sooner than September 2024).  The timeframes for this move are not currently known, and we will fully communicate and consult with staff as these plans develop.

We are seeking to appoint officers who are professionally curious, motivated problem-solvers, and those interested in protecting our national security.  Many of the skills needed are found and nurtured in other areas of policing, for the rest we give extensive training.

The Fixed Intelligence Management Unit is also an excellent entry point to a career in CT Policing, with regular operational engagement with every other department in the region.

Our team provides 24/7 coverage for the region through an on-call rota.

During times of critical threat our officers may travel to other regions of the UK to support a national response.

Due to the nature of the role, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence and be expected to drive force cars.

Security is of paramount importance to us due to the nature of the role. You need to be a British National and have resided in the UK for the past ten years.  Exemptions apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.  You will be required to successfully pass and maintain the relevant security clearance in order to perform the role.

You can find more information about security vetting here.
