We have an opportunity for an Accredited Financial Investigator who will undertake proactive and reactive financial and money laundering investigations to prevent the removal of criminal cash leaving and entering the UK.

In this role, you will conduct searches, secure evidence and interview suspects involved in financial criminality.  Presenting evidence in Court to a high standard to prosecute offenders under the Proceeds of Crime Act 2002 and associated legislation.

We are looking for somebody with strong interpersonal skills who can develop partnerships and work together with partner agencies during investigations.  You must be able to demonstrate keen attention to detail and investigative aptitude.

Unless already fully accredited as a Financial Investigator (FIO, FI, Confiscator, CRiSP, Restraint, S.47), you will be required to complete the relevant entrants exam and training, and thereafter submit the respective PDP to attain full accreditation with the NCA Proceeds of Crime Centre (PoCC).

Once accredited the post holder must maintain full accreditation by completing monthly evidence summaries and CPD activities as nominated via the Financial Investigators website maintained by PoCC/Home Office.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting level.  Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals.  This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result, you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the South East.

You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home.
