In this exciting role you will provide direct support to surveillance operations carried out by Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE).

You will support the administration of the CTPOR through the submission of surveillance product and maintenance of CTPOR processes. You will undertake the role of Surveillance Monitor (SvM) primarily at CTP SE and use knowledge, training and judgement to make valued recommendations on possible risks.

You will be responsible for the initial production, final completion, storage and submission of the National Security Surveillance Report (NSSR) and Resource and Tactical Summary (RaTS) for each surveillance deployment

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under pressure are essential to the role. It would be useful to have recent working knowledge of an operational/surveillance however not essential.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level. Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You will be required to work one weekend in four, Monday to Fridays (days and lates) with the occasional night.
