Police Constable – Training (Driver) - TRANSFEREE

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to join Driver Training and contribute to making our staff and communities safer by providing very high quality training up to and including Advanced Driving competencies in line with National Occupational Standards and Authorised Professional Practice.

Successful applicants will be trained to deliver a range of Driver Training Courses aimed at providing officers and staff with the necessary driving and risk management skills. You will play a key part in managing driver’s attitudes and behaviours and ensuring standards of driving meet National and Force requirements.

This role requires a passion for driver training and for developing people to reach their full potential through facilitating consistent and effective learning. The role also requires an in-depth understanding of, identification and management of risk, and a strong desire to help and support our front line delivery. You will be required to provide timely and appropriate feedback, present information persuasively and motivate others. These are all key components of this role.

Applicants must be substantive Constables who hold a current Standard Response or Advanced Driving qualification.

It is expected that Police Officers in this role will develop beyond Standard Response delivery and achieve Advanced Driver Training capability.

At this time Driver Training have vacancy’s for Police Officers and Police Staff , Police Officers that are approaching or considering retirement are invited to apply , as their proposed retirement dates will be taken into account in the process.

This role can be based from a number of sites across TVP, and there is a requirement to travel to different locations across the Force to deliver training. There is also some occasional evening and weekend working dependant on business need.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary.
