An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Surveillance Planner to join our Covert Operations Team, part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE). You will be responsible for providing planning and support, briefing and logistics to all surveillance operations carried out by the CTP SE.

Main responsibilities will include;

  • Planning, risk assessment, tactical advice, reconnoitring      and support of surveillance operations.
  • Moving vehicles, preparing equipment, obtaining all      the required assets and arrangements for the conducting of a successful      operation by the team.
  • Gaining and compiling the information required for      the completion of surveillance briefings and presenting the subsequent      briefing to surveillance team.

You will have a working knowledge of surveillance or surveillance planning and the ability to research and evaluate information, assessing the importance of tasks and prioritising accordingly. You will also have excellent communication skills with the ability to negotiate and influence with good presentation skills.

Level 1 or 2 National surveillance training or awareness, working knowledge / experience of firearms risk assessments and a good understanding of disclosure and exhibit handling are desirable.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the South East. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.
