We have exciting opportunities available for experienced Police Community Support Officers (PCSOs) from all backgrounds currently serving with other Home Office forces to join a forward thinking, modern Police Force.

Amongst other eligibility criteria, applicants must be a current serving PCSO with another Home Office force, out of their probationary period and fit for independent patrol and performing well in their current role (copies of PDRs will be required). In addition you will have attained English Language or Literature at GCSE Grade 9-4 or equivalent (e.g. GCSE A-C, English language level 2), or have a higher academic qualification at Level 3 or above. 

The recruitment process will follow a set programme of shortened application form, paper sift, competency based interview, vetting, medical checks, reference checks and fitness test.

Following a successful interview a training needs analysis will be undertaken to assess whether you will be required to attend the 8 week training at Sulhamstead or whether training can be provided whilst in the role.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner. Thames Valley Police will allow applicants to apply who do not necessarily reach the criteria as long as they have proven UK residency and supporting evidence where necessary. Applications will be considered on a case by case basis.
