The role  

Your primary task will be to support the Estates change program to maintain compliance with national and local standards relating to physical security to ensure the appropriate protection of Force information.

 

  • You will provide initial support and planning of physical security infrastructure to the property services project managers to ensure appropriate controls are in place to protect information assets, escalating to the Assurance Lead as appropriate.
  • You will work with ICT estates in assessing new locations to ensure that office relocations have appropriate security measures implemented prior to occupation.
  • You will be expected to conduct Police Assured Secure Facility assessments in accordance with CPNI guidelines.
  • You will produce supporting documentation to cover all moves and Police Assured Secure Facility assessments.
  • You will work with other members of the IA team to address concerns and any requirements for residual risk sign off.
  • You will be giving advice on information assurance and physical security requirements for property services project teams, providing a basic level of training to new staff.

 

The essentials

 

  • Appropriate qualification or significant experience in a relevant discipline, e.g. Information Governance, Data Protection, Information Assurance / Security, MoPI.
  • Be able to exhibit practical experience in the areas of Information Security / physical security.
  • Technical understanding of IT systems and risk management processes. Must be familiar with Cloud and Mobile technologies.
  • Proven understanding of Information Assurance principles, relevant legislation and HMG / Police IA Standards.
  • Maintain a high degree of integrity and trust when dealing with sensitive and classified information.
  • Appropriate professional qualification in relevant discipline (such as: MSc Information Security, CISM, CESG Certified Professional etc.), CPNI training for physical security assessments, (can be completed after appointment).
