In this role you will take responsibility for all aspects of spend in a specific category and maintain up to date market expertise in order to work closely with key stakeholders to develop and execute plans that achieve the Force’s objectives for the specific category, achieving the best value for the Force whilst mitigating any risk. You will manage and coordinate project teams to deliver procurements, providing strategic sourcing advice and support to stakeholders on the management of in-scope contracts and supplier relationships. You will be expected to identify and implement innovative sourcing approaches to the delivery of projects in order to enhance levels of service and minimize costs, ensuring compliance with the overall Procurement Strategy and safeguarding against contractual and commercial risk.

As an experienced professional, you will have worked within an EU Procurement environment with demonstrable experience of delivering procurement activities for public and/or private sector organisations. Experience and an understanding of EU Procurement Regulations is required together with excellent communication and influencing skills, both verbal and written and ability to develop good working relationships with staff at all levels. You will have strong organisational skills and be able to pay close attention to detail, together with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as part of a team. Strong team leadership and motivational skills are essential. High quality written reports are required and you will be confident in the use of office IT systems and programs in particular Excel, Word and Powerpoint.

You will have line management responsibility for a Sourcing and Contract Management Specialist.
