We are looking for a National Specialist Capability Administrative Support Officer (ASO) to join our Business Support team, part of the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU).

You will provide administrative support to the Head of CTP SE in their role as CT National Specialist Capability for the CT Network National Investigation Boards, Sub-Groups and changes as a result of the Operational Improvement Review.

You will prepare files and papers for meetings, review actions obtaining background papers and other appropriate information; attend meetings, taking accurate and often confidential minutes, then prepare and distribute them. You will complete delegated tasks, including the acquisition of information, provision of updates on projects, and collation of information for the briefing of senior managers. You will provide resilience to other roles in the departmental structure in relation to specific tasks during times of temporary abstraction as appropriate.

The successful applicant will be a confident communicator with good standard of education (including excellent numeracy and literacy skills). You have significant professional administrative experience with proven ability to take minutes having attained RSA III or equivalent and may be working towards or attained NVQ Customer Service Level 2 or equivalent. You must have the ability to work to deadlines, manage a substantial workload, problem solve and be IT literate.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to an enhanced level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
