This is an exciting opportunity to work within a dynamic environment supporting multiple Force Architecture Teams.  You will provide specialist technical design, specification & planning support to large-scale infrastructure programmes. This will include exposure to many innovative technologies including, Private Cloud, Public Cloud (SaaS, PaaS & IaaS), Office 365, Windows 10 & Mobile technologies.

 

 

The Role

• Responsible for developing solutions across infrastructure, networks and application environments.

• Develop and maintain technical frameworks, technical roadmaps, standards and principles aligned to ICT strategies.

• Define and exploit new and existing force technologies.

• Support the research, evaluation and selection of new technologies.

• Support the Chief Architect with the operation and management of the Architecture Team.

• Proven communication skills with the ability to build effective working relationships, with stakeholders internally and externally.

• Must have capability to travel regularly to different locations across the South East regional Forces.

 

 

Essential Skills Required

• Broad technical expertise & understanding of complex technologies & design

• At least 10 years’ experience working within large scale solution design, including specialist knowledge with at least two of the following:

             o Public cloud platform design and integration (Azure/AWS)

             o Large scale platform design including Compute, storage & Virtualisation

             o Network design including LAN,WAN & cloud integration

             o Large scale design experience of the Microsoft technology Stack including AD, authentication, Server & desktop OS 

• Security by design concepts and Government Security Classification scheme

• Team management & leadership qualities

• Architecture frameworks including use of TOGAF
