We have a 15 month secondment available to support the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Programme. We are looking for a skilled communicator with a passion for change communications who wants to ensure these programmes fulfil their potential through effective communication.

Key Responsibilities

The role is supporting the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Programme that is being implemented across Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley police forces over two go live dates.

This is a senior position that reflects the customers and stakeholders you will be supporting, and the complexities of the programme you will be advising and delivering communications for.

You will be expected to operate strategically and tactically; providing advice and influencing senior officers and staff; producing and delivering innovative but effective communication that recognises the different communication channels, cultures and priorities and change landscape of the three Forces (Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley) is being rolled out across. You’ll be experienced at juggling a number of priority projects and building successful working relationships. Maintaining enthusiasm and delivery for long term programmes of work is essential.

Skills & Experience

Whether your background is in internal comms, change comms, campaigning or another comms specialism, you need to have credible previous experience in a communications role at a similar level that you can evidence how you would transfer into this role.

You already know what makes great internal communications and have multiple examples of your successful involvement in change programmes. Whether it’s advising on the best way to deliver difficult messages or devising a comprehensive comms plan for multiple channels and audiences, you are a skilled communicator in multiple situations. You know what will interest your audience, can simplify complicated programme activity so that it is engaging and understandable and reflects the channels available for use.

You need to have good technical skills and be proficient at using a range of channels. It goes without saying that you know how to craft a great message, intranet story or blog post but what else can you do?

The job involves a lot of contact with stakeholders at various levels inside and outside the organisation so you should be comfortable operating at different levels and providing professional advice and service.

You are flexible, positive, willing to get stuck in and support your colleagues and take pride in being organised and tenacious. It’s a busy programme of work so your ability to use your initiative to hit the ground running and juggle a varied workload would definitely set you up for success here.

The job involves some travel around Surrey, Sussex and Thames Valley so you need to have access to a car and be able to drive. Your place of work is flexible with the opportunity to be based at either Lewes, Guildford or Kidlington with the opportunity to also work from home.
