An opportunity has arisen within the Learning and Development department for a Learning and Development Business Partner to lead on Accreditation and Quality. 

As a member of the Learning and Development Senior Management Team you will collectively contribute to the strategic and professional leadership and delivery of the Learning and Development service to the force.  You will provide senior manager leadership, direction and control for Police Officer and Police Staff apprenticeships and qualifications.  You will lead a team of managers and assessors and will ensure that learning resources and solutions are effectively aligned to meet Force needs and priorities, and that delivery complies with force and external standards. 

The successful candidate will represent Thames Valley Police at a national and regional level as required, dealing with senior members of staff in external agencies such as College of Policing, Ofsted, HEI’s, Awarding Bodies, Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education and other Forces, in appropriate areas of expertise; and influence the future direction of strategy where necessary. 

You will lead on the programmes in your portfolio, ensuring compliance with College of Policing criteria/quality assurance criteria for all such programmes for example the Police Education Qualifications Framework (PEQF), and obtaining and maintaining approved provider status where required. 

The post holder will Support the Head of Learning and Development and the Leadership Team in organisational design and development initiatives identified in the Delivery Plan and other corporate programmes. Contribute to the Force People Agenda and the target outcomes of the Directorate, ensuring alignment of the Learning Strategy. You will develop solutions, ideas, insights, facilitate change and challenge thinking to create innovative learning approaches, positively and effectively impact Force Performance and embed continuous improvement. Identify opportunities to positively impact on the learning culture to embed capability development. 

You must possess Level 4 Internal Quality Assurance of Assessment Processes and Practice Award in order to manage the delivery of assessment as Head of Centre. 

This is a hybrid role which currently reflects 3 days working from home and 2 days travelling within or outside the force.
