The location is Kidlington/Working From Home (Hybrid), however the post holder will be expected to attend any location within the force in order to provide training. 

Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines as well as crime scene investigation, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for TVP and other external organisations. 

The successful candidate will require a PTTLS / Level 3 Award in Education and Training or equivalent, or the willingness to gain whilst in role, as well as significant experience of training delivery, and a willingness to embrace alternative methods of training delivery and learning styles. They will need significant and recent experience working in at least one forensic discipline, and a willingness to gain an understanding of other forensic disciplines, in order to deliver a range of forensic awareness training. Also required is a proven ability to impart knowledge to a range of audiences, experience of mentoring and assessing staff and providing feedback, good IT skills, and evidence of good communication skills. While in post, they will also need to develop a good understanding of accreditation and forensic regulation (e.g. ISO17025, Forensic Regulators Codes of Practice and Conduct, ISO17020). A Qualification in mentoring and assessing (QCF level 3 Assessor Award in Assessing Vocationally related achievement or equivalent) would be beneficial, though is not essential. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
