Applications are invited for a PIP2 Investigator to work in the Child Abuse Investigation Unit (CAIU). Successful applicants who are already PIP2 accredited or hold a pass at NIE will commence immediately in the PIP 2 Investigator role at the 3H salary level. Applicants who do not hold an NIE Pass will commence in a PIP1 Investigator role in the 3G entry level 3G salary but will progress to the PIP 2 Investigator role on the 3H salary once an NIE pass mark has been achieved. 

In this role you will effectively and efficiently investigate, detect and reduce crime in line with force priorities and work in partnership with other agencies to deliver safeguarding. This provides an excellent opportunity for Police Staff Investigators to obtain further personal and professional development. It is essential that you have effective communication skills with the ability to communicate with a wide audience along with proven analytical and decision making skills. You will also be self-motivated with the ability to work on your own initiative with minimal supervision. 

Capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly. Due to unsocial hours and personal safety for lone working public transport may not be suitable. For this reason a full driving licence is considered essential for this role. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting. The successful applicant will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
