In this interesting role you will process applications and print certificates for the grant, variation and renewal of firearms, shot guns, dealers, clubs and explosives and provide advice and guidance to customers. Duties will include conducting background checks, maintaining computer records and files relating to certificates issued under the Firearms Act and handling routine telephone enquiries, taking action as necessary. 

The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines is essential whilst prioritising workloads and maintaining confidentiality. Recent and relevant experience of providing excellent customer service is required together with a good standard of education. You will have excellent IT skills with the ability to assimilate and use new packages as technology develops. A fully competent candidate will have knowledge of Force IT systems and knowledge of Firearms and Explosives Acts. 

Along with all other posts in the Force CID, Intelligence and Specialist Operations departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
