An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Intelligence Development Officer to join our integrated prisons intelligence team, part of Counter Terrorism Policing South East (CTP SE) and the South East Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU). You will identify, collate, research, assess and review information and intelligence on identified individuals and organisations and assist in the preparation and presentation of a variety of intelligence packages.

You will research and assess intelligence on individuals and organisations potentially linked to terrorism, extremism and serious and organised crime. You will prepare and present information to the relevant customer e.g. Intelligence products, reports, charts and maps for investigative and evidential use, summarising clearly, concisely and accurately key research findings.

You will have a good standard of education or equivalent experience. Recent and relevant experience within an intelligence environment and experience of research is also essential to the role. You will have good knowledge of the intelligence process and cycle, including National Intelligence Model (NIM). Excellent communication skills and good team working, organisational and planning skills are a must.

This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you will be required to travel for business purposes. This may include travel across the UK and is not limited to the south east. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational demand and occasionally this may require working away from home. You must be prepared to be security cleared to Developed Vetting (DV) level.

For the purposes of safeguarding national security, applicants who do not hold or acquire the appropriate security clearances (which may include STRAP) and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. As such, in line with Cabinet Office Policy, supported by Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), applicants who do not hold or acquire Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance and meet the nationality requirements cannot be offered the post.
