We welcome candidates to apply for the role of Regional People Advisor, to become part of the team working to support two specialist regional units that protect communities from the threats of serious organised crime and terrorism. This is a generalist role in a busy team where you will have a specific case load across multiple HR disciplines. At the outset it is anticipated that the core workload will include resourcing, sickness management and business change.

In this role you will engage with managers and staff to provide a comprehensive HR advisory service that complies with organisational policy and employment legislation on a wide range of issues. Working with colleagues, you will support and develop solutions to specific challenges, driving the people strategy and driving continuous improvement.

The successful candidate will be CIPD Qualified (or equivalent) or working towards a Level 5 CIPD Qualification, with proven participation and interest in continued professional development. There is potential for study support to be provided. You should also have experience of working within HR and providing advice to managers and employees on a diverse range of issues, and will be able to act as a point of contact to support others through contentious or complex issues.

We are committed to becoming the most diverse team in the South East. We encourage interest and applications from candidates of all backgrounds.

We support and encourage flexible and agile working, however the demands are such that this is a full time role and you will need to frequently attend the office. This role is part of a national, regional and local network and as a result you may occasionally be required to travel for business purposes mainly across the south east region and occasionally throughout the UK.

Due to the role requirements, it is essential that the post holder be prepared to be security cleared to SC Enhanced level.

Furthermore, due to the nature and sensitivity of work carried out we require that candidates not only hold this vetting level but that they also undertake additional security clearances which include additional nationality checks. This post is therefore restricted to UK nationals. This is line with government requirements, supported by Cabinet Office policy and Section 82(2) to (4) of the Police Reform Act (2002), and is for the purpose of safeguarding national security, to ensure that any potential vulnerabilities are identified at an early stage.
