Are you organised, detail-oriented, and thrive in a fast-paced environment? Our Regional Organised Crime Unit (SEROCU) is seeking a dedicated Administrative Assistant to join our team. The successful candidate will support the provision of a comprehensive and flexible administrative support and confidential secretarial service.

The successful candidate will complete often sensitive and confidential administrative tasks, including typing, taking minutes, record keeping, and answering routine queries. They will also be responsible for processing incoming/outgoing mail, stationery and general orders. They will support in diary management, to include effective timetabling and co-ordination of activities, so the candidate will need proven time management skills, being able to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload.

Experience of undertaking a wide range of administrative duties, including managing requisitions and utilising systems to raise orders, is required. We are looking for a candidate who is proactive in the development of processes to meet the business need with excellent organisational skills. Additionally, the candidate should have a good standard of education, excellent literacy and numeric skills. Proven verbal and written communication skills are essential together with an ability to promote professional working relationships with personnel at all levels. Recent experience of working in an office environment is required with evidence demonstrating discretion, tact and diplomacy, initiative, and flexibility with a willingness to learn and embrace new ways of working/technology.

On occasions, this role may be required to travel to various locations across the South East Region for business purposes. Therefore, the successful candidate will require a full UK driving licence. You will be asked to demonstrate flexibility regarding working hours in line with operational requirements.  You must be prepared to be security cleared.

Due to the nature of our work, security is of paramount importance to us and therefore it will be necessary to pass and maintain vetting level SC.  In order to achieve this, you must have resided in the UK for the past five years. Exemptions may apply for overseas or other diplomatic service (with HM Government), and studying abroad.
