Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) Technician - Forensic
Thames Valley Police (TVP) is making a significant, multi-year investment in our Forensic Services and is transforming our wide array of forensic disciplines, to create a forward looking, accredited service which delivers proportionate, timely services that support effective crime investigation for the populations of Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
As part of this transformation, an exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Forensic Investigation Unit (FIU) as a CSI Technician. Reporting to a CSI Supervisor and based within one of the operational CSI hubs; you will provide operational and logistical support to the CSI team. Duties will include the completion of equipment and vehicle checks and cleaning, record keeping and ensuring stock levels of forensic consumable items are both adequate and fit for purpose. Additional tasks will include providing administrative support to the CSI team which will involve the physical checking and handling of forensic exhibits, data entry and call handling.
Post holders will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process. Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.
Capability to travel across the Force may be required in order to deliver equipment and exhibits or assist with departmental resilience by working from an alternative site using Force vehicles. For this reason a full driving licence is considered essential for this role.

Vetting. All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice. The residency requirement is necessary to enable all applicants to be checked in an equitable manner.
