Applications are invited for the role of Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) Supervisor based at Aylesbury.  You will supervise and manage the work of Crime Scene Investigators, monitoring their progress, performance and development whilst quality assuring all aspects of the department’s functions.   You will take part in all types of scene investigations but with a scene management role, in relation to murders and other major crime cases. 

The successful candidate will have a clear understanding of the role of the Forensic Investigation Unit and current technical forensic examinations with the ability to recognise and rectify any substandard or incorrect working practices.  You will be able to communicate and present information effectively to a wide range of people, utilising excellent negotiation skills.  The ability to use your own initiative, work under pressure and organise and prioritise workloads is essential together with a good knowledge of health and safety requirements.  You will be able to work to guidelines and procedures, be self motivated and be able to demonstrate strong supervision skills.  The ability to recognise sensitive information and adhere to Thames Valley Police’s equal opportunities policy is essential and a Crime Scene Managers Certificate is required although training will be given.  A full driving licence is considered essential as capability to travel across the Force is required in order to undertake assignments in a timely manner and work flexibly.  

Candidates who are successful at shortlisting will be invited to an assessment day.  If invited to interview there may be a presentation which will be shared prior to the interview. 

The successful candidate will be expected to undertake the established psychological screening process. 

Along with all other posts in Force Crime, Intelligence and Specialist Operations Departments, this role will require an enhanced level of vetting.

Vetting.  All posts require a level of Police Vetting as per the National Vetting Code of Practice.
